Appointments
Please note that the appointment booking system has changed. In order to reduce waiting times appointments for a GP are now only bookable up to seven days ahead. Some appointments will be released and bookable 7 days, 3 days and 48 hours in advance, and then there are 'on the day' bookable appointments for problems that cannot wait to be seen routinely.
There are 2 ways to see the doctor:
A routine pre-booked appointment (with the doctor of your choice) can be made via reception, bookable up to 7 days ahead. This facility is for non-urgent and follow-up appointments.- A same day appointment can be made by ringing reception as soon as possible after 8:00am that day. We would ask patients NOT to come down to the surgery first thing in a morning to book an appointment but to contact us by phone and we will endeavour to offer you an appointment for that morning with whichever doctor is rostered to provide an open surgery on that day.
The GP's would kindly ask that if the patient is suffering from respiratory symptoms they carry our a COVID test first, however, this is only recommended and is not mandatory.
Where the GPs are fully booked for the day but you feel you need to urgently discuss a medical matter then please inform the receptionist who can add you to the triage list. The triage list if reviewed throughout the day by the duty doctor who will call you back to discuss your problem.
Telephone Appointments
If you have a telephone appointment booked, please be aware that your call will take place before the end of the morning or afternoon surgery. Our doctors will see all their face-to-face patients first, and then begin making telephone calls.
Please note that the time slot given is for booking purposes only — it allows the doctor to know who is on the list to call. The actual time of your call may vary depending on the flow of the clinic.
PRACTICE NURSE APPOINTMENTS
You may make an appointment with the Practice Nurse up to 8 weeks in advance. When flu sessions are on or a nurse is on leave, these times may vary.
7 Day Access
The Chorley Central Collaborative Group
We have been working hard to increase the numbers of appointments available for you. This has involved developing a partnership with other local practices, which we are pleased to tell you has now resulted in the formulation of the group named above.
Chorley Central Collaborative Group consists of the following practices Regent House Surgery, The Chorley Surgery, Library House Surgery, Granville House Medical Centre, Euxton Medical Centre and Coppull Medical Practice. The new service available will provide access to GP, nurse and health care assistant appointments in the evening and at weekends.
The service is available to all patients within this group on a proportionate basis however it is important to be aware that the appointment may not necessarily be at this practice.
